Can managers and employees be combined in the same workshop?

Although they can attend the same session, these workshops are most beneficial when managers attend with other managers and focus on organizational issues. Employees learn this subject matter best when they attend with other employees and focus on their own issues.

Do the AMA diversity workshops comply with EEO requirements?

These workshops were not developed for purposes of legal compliance. They are the next step, after you've dealt with litigation and EEO type diversity training. The goal of the training is to increase knowledge, awareness, understanding and empathy so you can leverage the power of diversity in your organization.

Our company already has a diversity vision. Can this be incorporated into the AMA workshops?

Yes. The language for "inclusion" or "multicultural awareness" is present in many corporate mission and vision statements. AMA’s Diversity Workshops provide a way for management to achieve the goal of creating a more inclusive, innovative workplace.

What is the difference between the half-day and one-day workshops?

In both the half- and one-day workshops, participants take Inscape Publishing’s Discovering Diversity Profile ®. Both workshops include developing action plans. However, in the one-day sessions, the content is presented in greater depth and includes the eye-opening video, Wealth, Innovation and Diversity which serves as a catalyst for classroom discussion.

Can AMA workshops be customized?

AMA’s instructional designers and subject matter experts will work with you to create a solution that meets your specific needs. For example, a second day can be easily customized to develop more focus and skill on understanding how to communicate in a multicultural workplace or team.
